遠州はまきた飛竜まつりは、3.2m×2.4mの大凧が大空を乱舞する「浜北凧揚げ」をはじめ、天竜川の神である「竜神」にちなんで水、音、炎をテーマに開催される浜北区の勇壮なイベントです。
その他、・手筒花火・打ち上げ花火・たいまつ行列・遠州大念仏(遠州地方に400年以上伝わる念仏踊り)・飛竜太鼓・よさこい踊り・水の道物産展など多彩なイベントが目白押しです。

The Enshu-Hamakita Hiryu Festival is a very heroic event held in Hamakita-ku with a theme of water, sounds, and fire represented by the Ryujin, the Diety of Tenryu River. A large 3.2 m x 2.4 m kite is also flown in the sky during the event.
Besides this, various events are jammed packed together, such as handheld fireworks, skyrocket fireworks, torch parades, Enshu-Dainenbutsu (a nenbutsu dance with a history of over 400 years in the Enshu region), Hiryu Drums, Yosakoi dances, exhibitions of marine life, etc.
