群馬県の高崎や東京都の深大寺とともに日本三大だるま市として知られ、毘沙門さん（毘沙門天大祭）のだるまは立派な髭をつけていることで有名です。
五穀豊穣や商売繁昌などの縁起物として人気があり、毎年、県内はもちろん全国各地からたくさんの人が訪れます。
また大祭に出店する露店は一キロを超え、その賑わいは「東海一の高市(たかまち)」と表されています。

Known as one of the three big Daruma Market in Japan, along with Gunma's Takasaki and Tokyo's Jindaiji, Bishamon's (Bishamon Grand Festival) Daruma are known to have an admirable mustache.
It is popular as a charm that brings good harvest and prosperous business, and so many people visit from all over the country every year.
And the stalls at the festival go for over one kilometer, and crowd is said to be Tokai's number one Takamachi.
