約６５０年前の室町時代から伝わる神事で、中国の故事「雲は龍に従い、風は虎に従う」に習い虎の威を借りて風を鎮めようという火伏せの舞いが行われ、お囃子にのって、町内を色鮮やかな山車と虎が練り歩き、各家の防災と家内安全を祈願する。

A Shinto ritual dating back to the Muromachi Period of approximately 650 years ago, where a dance is performed which symbolizes the tigers strength in the old Chinese proverb of "the clouds obey the dragon and the winds obey the tiger." They pray for safety and protection against disaster while men in tiger costumes walk through town.
