400年前から続き、福岡県の無形民俗文化財にも指定されているお祭りです。
その動きの激しさから「喧嘩山笠」とも言われ、華やかに飾られた人形山笠が、祭り囃子似合わせてぐるぐる回転し、まるで山笠が踊っているかのような動きを見せます。

This festival in Fukuoka prefecture has continued on for 400 years, and is a recognized as Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The intense movement is said to be due to the ‘quarrelling’ yamagasa floats. These bright floats are decorated with dolls that spin around in time to the accompanying festival music, moving as if the floats themselves were dancing.
