船玉祭り長瀞船玉まつりは、船下りの船頭が水上の安全を祈願して水神様をお祀りしたのがその始まりとされています。
約1,000基の灯篭が荒川へ流され、ちょうちんをつけた船が水上を行き交うほか、夜になると対岸から3,000発を超える花火が打ち上げられます。
川面に映る灯籠流しの灯りと勇壮な万灯船、夜空を彩る対岸の花火を楽しむ事が出来ます。

This festival began as a way to pray to the water god for safe travels on the water. Around 1000 lanterns are floated on the water, and boats decorated in lanterns float on the water. When night falls over 3000 fireworks are lit on the opposite shore. You can enjoy a beautiful scene of fireworks as the lanterns and lantern boats drift on the water.
