北風原の鞨鼓舞は、稲作のために必要な天水を確保することを祈念する雨乞い神事。
北風原区の春日神社と、横尾区の請雨山の愛宕神社の二箇所で一年交代で行われます。
三匹の獅子（雄獅子、雌獅子、中獅子）が腹につけた太鼓（羯鼓）を打ちながら、恵みの雨が降ることを天に祈って舞いを奉納します。

Naraihara Kakko Dance
The Naraihara Kakkomai is a Shinto ritual that prays for a good harvest and the rains to come. It happens once a year in two locations, the Kasuga Shrine in Naraihara, and the Atogo Shrine on Shosan Mountain in Yokoo-ku. Three lions (a large, medium and female) dance to drums called “kakko”, while praying for the blessing of rain.
