伊根祭と並び、伊根町で行われる祭礼の１つ。
前日の宵宮では、亀島4区から祭礼船を出し、笛・太鼓の祇園囃子で青島の蛭子神社を参拝。２０日の本祭は、祭礼船に乗り、神社を参拝した後、奉納相撲、帰路には「こばりあい」と呼ばれる祭礼船競争を行い、海上安全、大漁を祈願する。

It is called Ine Festival; a festival hold in Ine town. On the eve of the festival, boats from the 4 districts in Kameshima depart, heading for Aojima’s Ebisu Shrine with Gion musical accompaniments of flutes and drums. On the day of the festival people riding the festival ships pray to the shrine, then there is a dedicated sumo match, and a contest between the festival ships called “kobariai”. The festival is to ensure safe travels at sea and good fish harvests.
