掛川祭は毎年10月上旬に掛川駅周辺市街地を中心に行われます。また、3年に一度行われる掛川大祭の年は三大余興と呼ばれる「かんからまち」「大獅子」「奴道中（やっこどうちゅう）」が披露されます。

The Kakegawa Festival is held annually in October around Kakegawa Station. Every 3 years the Kakegawa Grand Festival is held, where the 3 grand performances, Kankaramachi, Large Shishi, and Yakkodochu are held.
