せともの祭は、江戸時代に磁器の製法を九州で学び、瀬戸に伝えた磁祖加藤民吉翁の道徳をたたえる産業祭として 昭和7年に開催されました。今年で85回目を迎え、お祭り2日間は、数多くの行事が開催されます。 なかでも「せともの大廉売市」は全国津々浦々から数十万人の人出でにぎわい、今日では全国最大の規模といわれています。

Setomono Festival was the industry festival held in 1932 to praise morals of Tamikichi Kato, father of the porcelain, who studied the ways of manufacturing porcelain in Kyushu and pass down the skill to Seto. It is 85th festival this year and many events are held during 2 days of the festival.
Among them, "Setomono clearance sale market" is in great bustle with hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country, it is the largest in scale in all over Japan.
