県内を代表するアンコウの名所・大洗町で毎年行われる祭り。最盛期を迎えるアンコウを堪能することができ、特設ステージではアンコウの吊るし切りの実演を見ることができる。他にも祭りを盛り上げるため、毎年大洗本場磯節などの郷土芸能や全国大会出場を誇る大洗高校マーチングバンド「BLUE-HAWKS」の演奏、友好都市物産展などが行われる。

The annual event is held in Oaraimachi that is well-known for anglerfish and representative of Ibaraki. Visitors are satisfied with anglerfish in season, and they can watch cutting performance while anglerfish is hanging down. To liven up the festival, there are local entertainments known as "Oarai Honba Isobushi" and other performances, and music performances by Oarai High School Marching Band "Blue-Hawks" that has proudly participated in National competition, and exhibitions of the products from friendship cities.
