戦後、復興祭として始まり、今では前橋三大祭の一つに数えられるお祭り。各町内会や企業、各種団体が参加する市民総出の祭で、鼓笛吹奏楽パレードや勇壮な大人みこし、伝統的な祇園山車、イチョウをかたどった鳴子で踊る前橋だんべえ踊り、和太鼓の演奏や八木節、民謡踊りなど多くの催し物が開かれる。

It was originally started as restoration festival after the war, and now is one of the Three Grand Maebashi Festivals. Everyone from the town, companies, and various groups participate in marching band parade, brave adult Mikoshi, traditional Gion floats, Maebashi Danbe Dance with the Ginkgo leaf shaped noisemaker, Japanese Taiko drum performance, Yagibushi, folk dance and many other events.
