毎年2月17日に旭岡山神社本殿に奉納され、江戸時代から行われているとされており、勇ましい「ジョヤサ、ジョヤサ」の掛け声とともに激しい揉み合いが繰り広げられます。
前日の１６日は約４０本近くのぼんでんが集まり、頭飾りの出来栄えや完成度などを競うコンクールがあります。

Dedicated to the main shrine of Asahi Okayama Shrine on February 17 every year, the festival is said to have been held since the Edo period (1603-1868), and is accompanied by the brave call of "Joyasa, Joyasa" and intense rubbing of the headdresses.
On the 16th, the day before the festival, nearly 40 bon-den gather for a competition to see how well and how complete their headdresses are.
