岩沼の獅子舞は、氏子の安全、五穀豊穣、悪疫退散を祈願し、皇産霊神社の祭礼に合わせて奉納され流。江戸時代の元和7年から続く歴史を持ち、千葉県の無形文化財にも指定されている。15mの大梯子の上に4mの梯子を横に置き、その上で2頭の獅子が交代で乱舞する「乱玉の舞」は観るものを圧倒させる。

Iwanuma Shishimai (Lion dance) is dedicated to Kosanrei Shrine at the time of festival to pray for safety of parishioners, good harvest, and an end to the epidemic. It started in Genna 7 in Edo period, and is registered as Chiba's Intangible Folk Cultural Asset. "Rangyoku no Mai" is an overwhelming dance where two shishi lions take a turn to dance on 4 meter ladder put sideway on top of the 15 meter big ladder.
