二口熊野社秋季大祭では、神輿と獅子が全戸を一巡したあと、2mもの高さに積んだわらを燃やし、その炎の中を駆け抜け、けがれを焼き払います。不動明王信仰に基づく神仏混交の神事です。県下でも大変珍しい神事であり、山伏によって伝えられたといわれています。

The grand autumn festival of Futakuchi Kumano Shrine starts with Mikoshi's and Shishi visiting homes around town, then burning a pile of hay 2 meters high, and participants running through the fire to burn away the filth. A ritual performed according to the Shinto-Buddhism mix faith in the Fudomyouou. A very unique ritual even within the prefecture, and is said to have been passed down by Buddhist monks.
