武者絵の大行燈が激しくぶつかり合うことから、「喧嘩夜高祭」とも呼ばれます。夜高踊り街流し、子供夜高太鼓競演会（前夜祭）も行われます。向かい合った2つの行燈が、総裁許の掛け声で激しくぶつかり合い、相手側の山車、吊りものを壊す「ぶつかり合い」は迫力満点！その瞬間が、まさに夜高まつりで生じるエネルギーの焦点であり、そこに居る人すべてが緊張と陶酔の世界へ引き込まれていきます。

This festival is also known as "Kenka Yotaka Festival", Fighting Yotaka Festival, because paper-framed lamps with samurai drawings clash each other aggressively. There are Yotaka Dance parades and Children's Yotaka Drum contest (the eve of festival). It is full of impact to see "Butsukariai" when 2 paper-framed lamps facing and at a starting signal by the event leader, they clash into each other aggressively to break other float and hanging devices! The moment is the focal point of energy that comes up from Yotaka Festival, and everyone there are drawn into the world of tension and intoxication.
