おわら風の盆前夜祭は江戸時代、町外に流出していた「町建御墨付文書」を町衆が取り戻したことを喜び、三日三晩踊り明かしたことに由来するおわら風の盆の前夜祭です。
おわら踊りについて紹介してくれるおわらステージや、期間中様々な町内会による輪踊りなどが行われます。

This festival originated in the Edo period, when the locals re-found the document that gave permission for the town’s founding. As they were so happy, they celebrated by dancing and drinking for three days and three nights, creating the tradition of the Owara Kaze-no-Bon Eve Festival.
