三条市の鎮守、八幡宮の春季大祭として催される三条祭りは、10万石の格式をもつ大名行列として知られる伝統行事です。
1822年（文政5年）村松藩主内藤信敦が京都所司代となったのを三条郷民が祝って10万石格式の行列を模して神輿渡御を行ったものがその始まりとされています。
大名行列の後、親が子供の成長を祈って2～3歳の子供を肩車し、神輿、太鼓とともに八幡宮社殿を3周して拝殿に納まる「舞込み（まいこみ）」は、毎年多くの観客を集めます。

Village shrine of Sanjo City, Sanjo festival is held as Hachimangu's Spring festival and is a traditional event known for its daimyo procession that has high status of 100,000 Koku.
This festival started when Muramatsu feudal lord Nobuatsu Naito became a Kyoto Shoshidai in 1822, people in Sanjo celebrated with imitating the procession of 100,000-Koku status and held a Mikoshi togyo.
Many spectators come to see "Maikomi" which takes place after the daimyo procession, where parents put their 2-3 years old children on their shoulders to pray for children's growth by walking around the Hachimangu shrine 3 times with Mikoshi and drums then delivering them to the hall of worship.
