名舟大祭は名舟の沖合約50km離れた舳倉島に鎮座する奥津比咩神社の御神霊を迎えて行う例祭です。能登の夏祭りを象徴するキリコと神輿や、子ども組、大人組による御陣乗太鼓の奉納打ちが最大のみどころとなっています。400年前から伝わる御陣乗太鼓は、この町に住む男だけに許される一子相伝の太鼓です。

The Nafune Taisai Festival is held every year to meet the holy spirits of Okutsuhime Shrine, which is about 31 miles off the shore of Nafune. The main attractions are the kikori portable shrines, the symbols of the Noto summer festival, with children’s groups and adult groups beating the drums in a gojingo-daiko formation for dedication.
