菟橋神社・本折日吉神社の春季祭礼。350年余りの歴史を持ち、豪華絢爛な曳山と可憐な子供歌舞伎が有名である。1766年（明和3年）から藩政末期まで10基あった曳山のうち、現在は8基が大切に保存され、祭り期間中は各町で展示される。そのうちの2町で上演される子供歌舞伎は武蔵秩父、近江長浜とともに日本三大子供歌舞伎として全国的に知られている。8基の曳山が勢揃いし、子供歌舞伎が上演される「曳山八基曳揃え」が人気を集めている。

This spring annual festival is held at Ubashi Shrine and Motoori Hiyoshi Shrine. It has history of over 350 years and is famous for the luxurious floats and lovely Children Kabuki. There were 10 floats from 1766 to the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, and 8 of them are still preserved carefully. During the festival, they are displayed at each town. Children's Kabuki performance take place in those 2 towns and it is known nationwide as one of the Three Grand Japanese Children's Kabuki along with ones of Musashi Chichibu and Oumi Nagahama. "Hikiyama Hakki Zoroe" is the most popular because all 8 floats get together and the Children's Kabuki is performed.
