粉雪のちらつく夜、子供の鬼達が簑を付け、フカグツを履き、手に包丁やサイケをさげ、「アマメを作っている者はいないか・・・アマメー」と叫び、なまけ者や悪い者がいないかと子供に聞かせる事により怠け癖を戒める神事です。
地区の小中学生が鬼に扮し、田畑の春の耕作を前にいろりにあたっている農家に「早く外に出て働け」と怠け癖のついた人達を戒める行事。この行事が終わると能登にも遅い春が訪れます。

On powder snow flurry night, young Oni (devils) wearing straw raincoat and gaiters, holding knives and Saike, come yelling out the words "Do you have Amame? Amame!" to look for lazy people and bad people, and to teach people not to be lazy.
This is a ritual event when students from elementary school and junior high school in the districts dress up for Oni and go to farmhouses to tell lazy people who are in front of fireside before the farm cultivation of spring season to "go out and work soon". Late spring visits Noto after this event.
