浅間温泉に古くから伝わる奇祭で住民の生活安泰と五穀豊穣を願って行われてます。むぎわらを束ねた巨大な松明に火をつけて温泉街を練り歩く姿はとても勇壮です。

It is an old and unusual festival told down from long ago in the Asama hot spring area, where they pray for safety of the residents and good harvest. Truly a soul-stirring sight to behold watching the participants parading through the hot spring town holding the lit large torches made of hay.
