上田真田まつりは、大河ドラマ「真田丸」で偉才を放っている戦国武将「真田昌幸」が1583年に築城した上田城の築城400年を祝って始まったまつりで、今年で34回目となります。
上田真田まつりでは、真田一族の生き様を真田武者に扮した壮大な武者行列をはじめ、信州真田鉄砲隊による豪快な演武や市内太鼓団体による勇壮な演奏、そして、真田軍対徳川軍による決戦劇などで表現します。この日は上田城跡公園一帯がまるで戦国時代にタイムスリップしたような戦国絵巻が繰り広げられます。

It is 34th year festival, Ueda Sanada Festival is started to celebrate the 400 years of con-struction of Ueda castle which was built by Busho in the Sengoku period named "Masayuki Sanada" who cut a conspicuous figure in "Sanadamaru", period drama.
Starting with magnificent samurai parade by disguised Sanada samurai, powerful public demonstration by Shinshu Sanada firearms unit, thrilling music performance by local drum groups, and a final battle of Sanada army and Tokugawa army express Sanada family's lives. On this day, Sengoku Emaki is performed at Ueda castle ruins park neighborhood almost as if it travels back in the time of the feudal period of Japan.
