高山祭は日本三大美祭の一つで、16世紀後半から17世紀の発祥とされています。屋台が町を巡る曳き廻しや布袋台のからくり奉納など、江戸時代の面影を残す伝統的な祭行事が楽しめます。

The Takayama Festival is one of the 3 Most Beautiful Festivals in Japan, and is said that it originated in the late 16th to 17th centuries. Floats parade through town, with mechanical dolls on a platform, it is a traditional festival event that reminds spectators of the Edo Peri-od.
