全国に名を馳せる古川祭は、町内にある気多若宮神社の例祭で国の重要無形民俗文化財にも指定されている伝統神事です。この祭は、神社での神事、古式ゆかしい「御神輿行列」が中心となって、"動"の「起し太鼓」と"静"の「屋台行列」が二大祭事として加わり、三つの行事群により４月１９日、２０日の２日間に渡って盛大な時代絵巻が繰り広げられます。

Nationally famous Furukawa Festival is an annual ritual held at Keta-Wakamiya Shrine in the town and registered as Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset. Ritual events at the shrine and traditional "Mikoshi Parade" are main events of this festival. 2 big festivals of "Okoshidaiko" as "motion" and "Yatai Floats" as "motionless" are added and in 3 events prosperous old time era Jidaiemaki are performed for 2 days on April 19th and 20th.
