菟足神社には、古来からいくつもの風にまつわる話が伝えられています。
その風に対する民間信仰をもとに“風の神様のお祭り”と呼ばれ、『風(かざ)まつり』というようになったと考えられるのです。
現在行われている風まつりは、雀射初などに代表される一般の神事と、手筒花火・仕掛け花火に代表される、余興などで構成されていますが、三河煙火の真髄を伝えるという点では、手筒花火などは日本一とも称せられています。

Many old tales are told relating to wind at the Utari Shrine.
Along with the local faiths relating to the wind, the festival is called the Festival of the Gods of the Wind, and now known as Kaza (wind) Festival.
The Kaza Festival that we see today is composed of common rituals represented by such as Suzumeiohatsu, handheld fireworks and exhibition fireworks, and other performances. But, is said that in way that the Mikawaenka fireworks are performed, it is Japan's number one place for handheld fireworks.
