「八百津だんじり祭」は舟運で栄えたこの辺りの特徴を最も色濃く残す元禄年間（1688～1704）に始まった祭りです。
祭日には船を形どった山車3両（三輌を合わせるとみごとに一隻の舟の形に）がひき出され、町内を練り歩きます。美しく飾られた勇壮なだんじりは、どっしりと重く大きなかけ声とともにひっぱられ、男達の巧みなテコ捌きで町並みを練り歩く姿は熱気にあふれ、別名「けんか祭り」とも呼ばれています。

The Yaotsu Danjiri Festival is a festival which started between 1688 to 1704, in an area that flourished with transportation by water, which can be seen in the festival.
On the holiday, 3 floats representing a boat (which turn into a boat when the 3 floats com-bine) parade through town. The floats decorated in a manly fashion, are pulled along with men yelling in their deep voices, parading through town. Also known as the Kenka (fighting) Festival.
