銘茶の産地「金谷」で二年に一度行われる「金谷茶まつり」。新茶の季節の到来を告げる祭りです。祭りのメインはやはり茶娘道中で茶摘み衣装をまとった茶娘約千三百人が華麗な踊りを披露します。夕方からは法被姿の若者が威勢良く引き回す屋台道中、力強い川越し太鼓の演奏などが行われます。
夜間に行なわれる創作踊りも圧巻です。

A festival that tells us the arrival of the newly picked tea. The main event of the festival is the Chamusume-dochu parade performed by 1300 Chamusume in their tea picking outfits dancing.
And in the evening, the young come out in their Happi coats with their floats, and perform along with the Kabagoshi Taiko drum rhythm. The creative dances performed in the even-ing are also a must to see.
