「敵に塩を送る」の故事に由来した伝統行事。古くは「塩市」だったもので、以来塩がますをかたどった飴を売るようになり、今日の「飴市」となった。松本あめ市時代行列、全国あめ博覧会即売会、松本あめ市展、神輿のお練り、太鼓連競演、音楽隊、塩取り合戦、初春抽選会、子どもによる福だるま売りが例年行われる。

This is a traditional event based on a historical fact of "sending salt to the enemy". It used to be a salt market in old times, but it had changed to selling candies of salt shaping a measuring box then changed to today's "Candy market". There is Matsumoto Candy Market period procession, national candy exhibitions and spot sales, Matsumoto Candy Market exhibitions, Mikoshi procession, drum performances, music bands, salt acquisition battles, early spring raffles, and annual good luck daruma sale by children.
