13本の曳山が、「イヤサー、イヤサー」の独特の掛け声とともに、典雅な曳山囃子を奏でながら荘重なきしみを響かせ、神輿渡御に供奉して曳かれます。昼は「花山」夜は「提灯山」に装いを変えて、町中を練り廻る姿は、絢欄豪華そのもので、地元一体となって盛り上がります。創始の年代は不詳ですが、一番山の古新町は1650年の創設と伝えられており、約360年前から曳かれていたことが記録として残っています。順列を連ね、狭い町角を急曲がりするときの勇壮さは見ごたえ十分！また、夜の提灯山が内川の水面に映り、幻想的な姿を見せてくれます。
