富山県を代表する民謡・むぎや節の哀調を帯びた旋律と、男衆が織りなす勇壮で風格のあるむぎや踊りのコントラストが多くの人々を魅了し続ける祭り。また、むぎや踊り競演会やむぎや節コンクール全国大会、総踊りなども開催されます。情緒あふれる街並みで、各町内や民謡団体がむぎや節などを披露する街並み踊りも必見。
