氷見漁港の東約300mの海上にある小島の上に、観音堂と弁天堂の2つの祠堂があります。ここに祭られている弁天様に海上安全と大漁を祈願するために行われるのが「唐島祭」です。
光禅寺にて読経をあげた後、各町内の太鼓台や神輿が町中を巡行し、獅子舞競演後、唐島へ渡り、読経を行います。

There are 2 small shrines for Kannon and Benten on the small island which is located 300 m east of Himi fishing harbor. "Karashima Festival" is held to pray to the Benten deity enshrined here for marine safety and good catch.
After reciting a sutra at Kozenji Temple, drum floats and Mikoshi parade through the town and Shishimai perform a dance, then move to the Kara Island to recite a sutra.
