全国に広まっている「よさこい」の発祥の地で行われるお祭りです。四国三大祭りにも数えられ、毎年、延べ約100万人の人出があります。祭りの本番では、市内各所の競演場・演舞場で、150以上のチーム・約1万5000人が趣向を凝らした演舞を披露します。

The dancers dance and sing with hand clappers at this festival where the traditional yosakoi dance that is popular across Japan started. This is one of Shikoku’s three largest annual festivals with around 1 million people participating. The main festival has over 150 teams with over 15,000 performing elaborate traditional dances.
