宝立七夕キリコ祭りは８月７日「月遅れの七夕」に行われるお祭りです。
約１００名の若衆に担がれた14ｍ前後の大キリコ６基と６ｍ前後のキリコ２基が動き出し、22時30分頃には見附海岸に勢揃いし、８基のキリコが揃うと全てのキリコが明かりを消し、あたりは一時静寂の闇に包まれ、１基ずつ明りをつけながら、打ち上げ花火の合図に合わせて沖合20～30ｍに設けられた柱松明を目指して、すべてのキリコがいっせいに海に担ぎ入り、松明の周りを巡りあばれます。
大キリコの灯が海に揺らめき、鉦(かね)・太鼓・囃(はやし)が距離以上に遠くから聞こえてくる様子は、勇壮かつ幻想的です。

This festival happens every August 7th which is one month after most Tanabata festivals. Fireworks are let off above burning pine torches, which are around 65-90 feet out to sea, while the kikori floats are all carried into the sea and circle the torches.
