上杉謙信を祀る山形県米沢市の上杉神社、名君上杉鷹山、直江兼続などを祀る松岬神社の春の例大祭。初日は開幕祭として市内を千人もの踊り手が色とりどりの衣装で華やかに踊り歩く。最終日には、上杉軍と武田軍が激突した「川中島合戦」を河川敷に再現。迫力満点の戦闘シーンが繰り広げられる。

The spring annual main festival in Yonezawa City of Uesugi Shrine, which enshrines Kenshin Uesugi, and Matsugasaki Shrine, which enshrines Youzan Uesugi and Kanetsugu Naoe. The initial day is where the opening festival is held where the 1000 participants dress in their festival attire and dance and walk around town. On the final day, simulate the battle of Uesugi Clan against the Takeda Clan at "Kawanakajima Battle” on the bank of the river. A very impactful battle scene can be seen.
