大杯になみなみとそそがれた「おらんくの酒」を一気に飲み干す「大杯飲み干し大会」はどろめ祭りのメインイベント。「これこそ土佐人」のイメージを全国に広めた豪快でユニークな祭りです。
毎年4月、赤岡町の浜辺に世界各国の名だたる酒豪達が集まり、太平洋を舞台に、地引き網でとれたてのドロメ（マイワシ・ウルメなどの稚魚）を肴に男性は一升（1.8リットル）女性は五合（0.9リットル）をぐいぐい飲み、「飲み干す時間」「飲みっぷり」の総合得点を競います。

The main event of the Hadoro Festival is the Large Cup Drink up Meeting, which is where participants drink up the Oranku no Sake which is poured to the brink in a large cup. A very elaborate and unique festival which spread the Korekoso Tosajin Image nationwide.
Heavy drinkers from all over the world gather in Akaoka-cho annually in April, where they participating men drink 1.8 liters and women drink 0.9 liters of alcohol while eating dorome fish (sardine and herring fry) caught with a dragnet from the Pacific, and compete for points on the amount of time they drink, and the way they drink.
