西条まつりは、江戸時代から続く西条市の伝統的な秋祭りです。
五穀豊穣を神に感謝する神事で、伊曽乃（いその）神社、嘉母（かも）神社、石岡（いわおか）神社、飯積（いいづみ）神社の4つの神社の例祭の総称です。
市内の氏子各町に所属する約150台の屋台（だんじり、みこし、太鼓台）が奉納され、その数は日本一ともいわれています。
祭りでは細工を凝らした屋台が列をなし、太鼓や鉦、人々の祭ばやしの声が町中に響き渡ります。そのさまは「豪華絢爛」と形容されることが多く、地元の神事ながら毎年多数の観光客が訪れます。

The Saijo Festival is a traditional fall festival of Saijo City that has continued since the Edo period.
It is an annual festival for four different shrines, where rituals to give thanks to the deities for good harvest are held for the Isono Shrine, Kamo Shrine, Iwaoka Shrine, and Iizumi Shrine.
Approximately 150 floats (including danjiri floats, mikoshis, and taiko platforms) from the various parishioner towns are dedicated, and it said to be the number 1 in Japan in terms of the number of floats.
Very intricately decorated floats line up in the festival, with taiko drum performances, and participants singing voices echoing through town. This scene is often said to be luxurious and gorgeous, and even though it being a local ritual, many tourists come and visit each year.
