福生七夕まつりは東京都内有数の七夕まつりで、1951年7月、仙台七夕まつりをヒントに、商店街振興のため開催されたことが始まり。商店街振興のために始められた七夕まつりではあるが、市民模擬店の出店を契機に、次第に市民の祭りとしての色合いを深めている。
通りをふさぐほどの竹飾りが飾られ、七夕織姫コンテストなど様々な催しが行われます。

Fussa Tanabata Festival is one of many Tanabata Festivals in Tokyo where the streets are covered in Tanabata decorations, as well as a Tanabata Orihime competition, along with a number of other events.
