熊谷花火大会は、市制施行の翌年昭和9年8月18日に「熊谷煙火大会」が開催されたことに始まります。
約1万発もの花火が打ち上げられ、関東でも最大級の花火大会でもあり、県内では最も古い花火大会として知られています。
地元企業などの提供による尺玉やスターマインの花火のほか、メッセージとともに花火を打ち上げる「メッセージ花火」もあります。
この他にも花火業者が技を競う「スターマインコンクール」もみどころです。

About 10,000 fireworks are released during this display, and is one of the largest fireworks displays in the Kanto region, as well as the oldest in its prefecture.
There are even “message fireworks” which contain messages. As well as a fireworks production competition called the “Star Mine Competition”, which is fantastic to see.
