狭山入間川七夕まつりは関東三大七夕祭りの一つで、仙台七夕祭りに次いで古くから行われている。狭山市駅前から七夕通りを中心に約2kmの沿道には、商店、事業所、市民が出品した百数十本の竹飾りで埋めつくされる。また、花火大会も実施しており打ち上げ数は約1,500発打ち上げている。

This is one of the three largest Tanabata festivals in the Kanto region, and is the oldest after the Sendai Tanabata Festival. Tanabata decorations adorn the front of Sayama Station and down the road for 1.2 miles. Local citizens fill their shops and offices with hundreds of bamboo decorations. There is also a fireworks display with over 1,500 fireworks.
