木本八幡宮の秋の大祭で奉納される獅子舞は500年余りの歴史を持つ民俗芸能です。和歌山県の無形民俗文化財に指定されています。だんじり舞台の青竹をつたわりながら演じる獅子落としの舞はスリリングで見応え十分です。

The Shishimai is dedicated at the grand festival of the Kinomotohachimangu Shrine, is said to be a folk entertainment with a history of over 500 years. It is registered as an Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Wakayama Prefecture. The Shishiotoshi dance which is performed while walking across the green bamboo on the danjiri stage is very thrilling and worth the watch.
