献氷祭

和銅3年（710）、吉城川の上流、春日山のふもとに氷室を設けて神を祀った故事に由来する行事。全国の製氷業者、氷小売業者が参列。午前11時から祭典が始まる。神前に「鯉の滝のぼり」などの花氷や氷柱を奉納。午後から神社伝来の舞楽が奉納される。
It is associated with the historical fact that people deified the gods at the icehouse on the bottom of Mt. Kasuga by Yoshiki River upstream in Wado 3 (710). Ice manufacturers and ice retail distributors from the nation attend. The festival starts at 11 AM.
Ice flowers and ice sculptures such as "a carp climbing up a waterfall" are dedicated before the altar. Dances and music handed down to the shrine are dedicated in the afternoon.
