京都府舞鶴市字の雨引神社で毎年８月14日の夜から行われる祭。大蛇退治の伝説になぞらえて、身を清めた氏子達がそれぞれ小松明を持ち、5丈3尺の大松明に向かい叫びながら投げ点火、十分に火の着いた大松明を倒す。

This festival happens every August 14th in the evening at the Amabiki Shrine in Maizuru city, Kyoto Prefecture. Linked to the legend of the snake extermination, the purified parishioners hold small torches, and throw their torches into a 53-foot-tall large torch while shouting to lit the fire and then tear it down.
