弁慶が田辺一帯を統治していた熊野別当の子という伝説から、市内各地に弁慶関連の遺物が伝えられる田辺市の祭り。弁慶ゲタ踊り、鬼若太鼓を軸に、紀州弁慶よさこい踊り、物産テント市など様々なイベントを折りまぜながら盛大に開催。土曜の夜には田辺花火大会が行われる。

From the legends that states that Benkei was a child of Kumano Betto, who ruled the Tanabe region, it is a festival to tell of the relics throughout town related to Benkei. Various events are held, such as the Benkei's Geta sandal Dance, Kishu Benkei Yosakoi dance along the Oniwaka Taiko, Products Tent Markets, and other events are mixed in to make a grand festival. The Tanabe Fireworks Show is held on Saturday evening.
