市のシンボル花でもあるツツジ約2万5000本が咲き揃う東舞鶴公園で、見頃にあわせて「舞鶴つつじまつり」が開催されます。メインの日にはさまざまなイベントも催され、多くの人で賑わいます。

"Maizuru Azalea Festival" is held at Higashimaizuru Park in the best time of azalea, the city flower, of 25,000 bushes to be in full bloom. Various events are held on the main day and it is crowded with many people.
