葵祭は、祇園祭、時代祭と並ぶ京都三大祭の一つとして知られています。
京都御所から下鴨神社・上賀茂神社へ新緑の都大路を、総勢500名を超える平安絵巻さながらの優雅な行列がねり歩きます。
京都最古の祭で、行列のすべてに葵の葉が飾られてます。

Aoi Festival is known as one of the 3 biggest Kyoto Festivals along with Gion Festival and Jidai Festival.
Total of over 500 people parade through the fresh verdure Miyako-oji Avenue from Kyoto Imperial Palace to Shimogamo Shrine and Kamigamo Shrine looking gorgeous just like a Heian Emaki.
It is the oldest festival in Kyoto and all the processions are decorated with hollyhock leaves.
