日本三大山車祭の一つで、国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されています。
祭最大の呼び物「子ども歌舞伎」が５歳から１２歳くらいの男の子によって演じられ、大人顔負けの熱演は見物客の拍手喝采を浴びています。
さらに、１５日の夜に御旅所に提灯を灯した４台の曳山が勢ぞろいする光景は幻想的で、クライマックスには神輿が担がれます。

It is one of the 3 biggest Dashi festival in Japan and registered as a National Significant Intangible Folk Cultural Asset.
The biggest attraction of "Children Kabuki" is performed by boys aged from 5 to 12, and their impassioned performances which almost putting adults to shame receive a roar of applause from viewers.
Moreover, a view of 4 floats with lighted lanterns get together at Otabisho is fantastic and Mikoshi are carried at the climax.
