四国の四大祭りの一つとしても数えられる、香川県最大のイベントです。
祭りの期間中は、メインステージを始め街の各所でイベントが模様され、最終日には伝統民謡・「一合まいた」をアレンジした「さぬき高松まつりのテーマ」にあわせた総踊りが行われます。また１３日に行われる花火大会「どんどん高松」では、高松港の海上に約12,000発の花火が打ち上げられ、祭りの夜を彩ります。

This is one of the four largest festivals in Shikoku and the largest in Kagawa Prefecture. The large dance is on the last day with traditional folk songs such as “Ichigo Maita” arranged to the theme of Sanuki Takamatsu Festival. Then the “Dondon Takamatsu” fireworks display light up the night with around 12,000 fireworks over Takamatsu Port Sea.
